Poetry Slam Ludwigsburg - No. 19 at the Scala!

Poetry Slam Ludwigsburg has been a fixture in the cultural life of this baroque city since 2009, and has now found its home at the Scala.

Four times a year, host and MC Johannes Elster invites established names and rising talents from across the German-speaking world to a literary showdown on the Scala stage. In a preliminary round and a final, they perform their best pieces: prose or poetry, comedy or spoken word, satire or storytelling - anything goes, as long as the three slam rules are respected:

1. Only self-written texts are allowed.
2. Each performance is limited to six minutes.
3. Props, costumes, and musical instruments are banned.

Voice and body alone bring the texts to life, and the audience decides whose contribution they liked best. Applause determines who advances to the next round and who ultimately wins.
