Ernst sein ist alles

Two English gentlemen lead a sophisticated double life: Jack passes himself off as "Ernest" in town, while Algernon invents a sickly friend called "Bunbury" to escape tiresome social obligations. When both men - each going by the false name "Ernest" - meet women who will only marry a man of that name, their elegant deception spirals out of control.

What follows is a farcical game of mistaken identities and mounting complications. Secrets burst, identities collapse, hearts stumble - and in the end it turns out: nothing is quite as dangerous as the wrong name with the right person.
