FreiKultur - gereon

FreiKultur 2026 brings live music to the courtyard of CD-Kaserne in Celle across seven evenings, supported by Sparkasse Celle-Gifhorn-Wolfsburg. The idea: musicians from across Germany play stripped-back, without elaborate staging, directly in front of the audience. Entry is pay-what-you-want - guests drop whatever they feel into a hat during or after the show, and the full amount goes to the artist.

On Saturday, 22 August 2026, gereon takes the stage at 19:30. The 22-year-old, born and raised in Celle, is currently studying at the Popakademie in Mannheim. His songs sit somewhere between singer-songwriter ballads and melancholic indie-pop - raw-voiced, with vivid lyrical imagery and a bittersweet honesty. His themes range from longing and transience to freedom and euphoria. After the concert, at 22:00, the film Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark will be screened.

The courtyard opens 30 minutes before the start. Deck chairs, picnic benches and folding chairs are provided. Picnic baskets with food are welcome; please leave drinks at home - CD-Kaserne has its own bar on site.
