In the early 1920s, young Nick Carraway moves to New York as a securities trader and rents a small house on Long Island. His neighbour turns out to be a mysterious man famous for throwing the most legendary parties in town: Jay Gatsby. Nick is asked to help Gatsby reconnect with Daisy - Nick's cousin and Gatsby's great love from his youth. But Daisy is now married to Tom Buchanan, a wealthy man from the Midwest who will stop at nothing to keep her from choosing Gatsby. A confrontation leads to a fateful accident that reshuffles everything...
F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel (1896-1940) is a story of glitz and glamour, economic turmoil, and social scheming. Claus Martin has turned it into a musical that sweeps audiences into the Roaring Twenties with lively songs: ragtime, swing, Charleston, a live band, and choreography are all part of the production.
