Christmas Concert - Chamber Choir "Leo Wistuba"

"Music - the source of us all - soulful choral singing at Christmastime"

Dear guests, what could be more beautiful than letting the spirit of Christmas in? You are warmly invited.

The choir will sing songs from a distant past, melodies that have travelled through the centuries. Join them and let beloved tunes carry you back to childhood: "Alle Jahre wieder", "Fröhliche Weihnacht überall", and "Ihr Kinderlein, kommet, o, kommet doch all'!".

The female voices ring like delicate harp strings in "Hebe deine Augen auf!" and "Maria durch ein Dornwald ging". Ladies and gentlemen together will joyfully perform Johann Sebastian Bach's chorale "Jesus bleibet meine Freude", and the cheerful "Mein Jesuito" will follow.

A touch of pop is not to be missed - everyone agrees on that, surprises included. When Tilmann Albrecht, the artistic director, turns to the audience with a smile, the "hall choir" will enthusiastically join in: "O, du fröhliche!".

Lyrical readings full of wishes and hopes - including verses by Mascha Kaleko: "Leis fällt der Schnee..., in unsern Träumen weihnachtet es seit gestern schon" - will be woven through the programme by Sybille Kutschke-Stange.
