DENIS SCHECK and WOLFGANG ABENDSCHÖN & AKZENTE - Concert-Reading with a Touch of Rock & Gospel

Denis Scheck and Wolfgang Abendschön & AKZENTE will perform on Tuesday, December 1, 2026 at 8 p.m. in the intimate atmosphere of the Kleine Kirche at Karlsruhe's Marktplatz, the city's oldest church.

Their programme "Zwischentöne" ("In-Between Tones") offers a fresh perspective on books and music albums. Throughout the evening, we listen, read, observe, and experience art through all the senses.

Denis Scheck is a literary critic and cultural journalist working in television and radio. As a child, he moved with his parents to a small village near Stuttgart, where he began reading out of sheer boredom. At thirteen, he founded a literary agency specializing in science fiction. He studied German literature, political science, and contemporary history in Tübingen, Düsseldorf, and Dallas. From 1996 to 2016, he worked as a literature editor at Deutschlandfunk in Cologne, where he still lives today. He is best known to a broad audience as the host of the book magazine "Druckfrisch," broadcast monthly on ARD since 2003. His literature programme has become a cult classic. For his work as a literary critic, translator, and television producer, Denis Scheck has received numerous awards.

Wolfgang Abendschön is one of Germany's most renowned and fascinating Christian rock poets. He regularly performs with his band "ABENDSCHÖN & AKZENTE," for which he writes both lyrics and music. He collaborates with the German Catholic Congress, the German Protestant Church Congress, and the Ecumenical Church Congress. He has released numerous albums and books, as well as music videos.
