About the venue

The Alemannische Bühne is a dialect theatre in Freiburg im Breisgau that has been staging plays in the Alemannic dialect since 1950. It is one of the few remaining professional stages in Germany dedicated entirely to regional dialect theatre. The repertoire ranges from comedies and folk plays to more serious dramatic works, all performed in the local Alemannic tongue.
