darmstadtium is a modern congress and event centre in the heart of Darmstadt, opened in 2007. Named after the chemical element darmstadtium (Ds, no. 110), which was discovered at the nearby GSI Helmholtz Centre, it hosts scientific conferences, congresses, trade fairs, and cultural events. The building's striking architecture was designed by the Austrian firm Hascher Jehle Architektur.
