About the venue

The Cathedral of Halberstadt is one of the finest Gothic cathedrals in Germany, built between the 13th and 15th centuries on the site of earlier Romanesque churches. It houses an exceptional treasury with medieval relics, textiles and goldsmith work, as well as remarkable stained-glass windows. The cathedral is also home to the ongoing John Cage organ piece "As Slow As Possible", which began in 2001 and is scheduled to last 639 years.
