The SWR1 ensemble performs songs in their original languages - freshly arranged and brought to life on stage. Actors use German translations to reveal what lies behind the greatest hits of all time. SWR1 presenter Jochen Stöckle hosts the evening.

The monastery of St. Peter and Paul in Hirsau, a district of Calw, is one of the most significant Romanesque ruins in southwest Germany. Founded in the 11th century, it became a major centre of the Hirsau Reform movement, which shaped Benedictine monasticism across the region. Today the atmospheric ruins host open-air concerts and cultural events in summer.
