About the venue

Kokerei Zollverein is a former coking plant on the UNESCO World Heritage Site Zollverein in Essen, built in the 1960s and shut down in 1993. The vast industrial complex - with its striking steel structures and raw concrete - now serves as a cultural venue hosting exhibitions, festivals, and large-scale events. It is part of the broader Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex, one of the most iconic industrial monuments in Europe.
