WŚCIEKŁY PIES | performance and discussion

"Wściekły pies" returns for a new theatrical season. This is a raw monodrama based on Wojciech Tochman's reportage, adapted and directed by Marcin Bortkiewicz, performed by Sebastian Słomiński. The performance begins as a homily to the audience, gradually transforming into a confession - an intimate revelation from a man who spent years hiding his identity.

The story explores loneliness, shame, exclusion, and the search for love within a Polish context, while raising questions about empathy and hypocrisy. Last season, the performance won the award for best actor and the dramaturgy award at the international KRAKOW FEST, as well as an invitation to BABEL International Performing Arts Festival 2027. Previously, Słomiński's role was recognized as Best Performance at the Reactions Festival 2025 in Wrocław. The official patronage is held by the Campaign Against Homophobia. In the new season, each performance is followed by an audience discussion based on the dialogue method of the Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue from Norway - not a traditional Q&A, but a space for sharing personal experiences and mutual listening. Each discussion has its own theme and is facilitated by a certified moderator. The theme for this performance: "How far does your empathy reach?"
