"Zielopuchy" - RELACJE XI
Municipal Cultural Centre in Stalowa Wola, Poland
A performance by the 2025 RELACJE award winner and a conversation with the creators.
A week before the RELACJE XI festival, the Municipal Cultural Centre in Stalowa Wola presents "Zielopuchy" - a production by Teatr Kaprys from Łap that won the Grand Prize and Audience Award at the X Intergenerational Theatre Meetings.
The production is based on the short story collection "Guguły" by Wioletta Grzegorzewska. The character Wiolka lives in a small village, goes to school, talks with her father, plays with her peers - and encounters love and death for the first time. The jury of the X edition of RELACJE wrote in their report: "The production managed to take audiences into the realm of childhood, from which we all come, translating Wioletta Grzegorzewska's prose about growing up in the communist era into a performance that shows how official history becomes a personal, intimate story unfolding at the level of senses and emotions. (...) 'Zielopuchy' is also a story about one's small homeland, small time, close to matter, full of Schulzian, organoleptical beauty, demonstrating the full range of theatrical means, showing how extraordinary the microcosm of our lives is."
Scenario and direction: Adam Karasiewicz (based on "Guguły" by Wioletta Grzegorzewska). Cast: Aleksandra Karasiewicz, Aniela Karasiewicz, Zofia Karasiewicz, Natalia Laskowska, Aleksandra Łapińska, Łucja Łapińska, Karolina Poźniak, Sebastian Poźniak, Piotr Subocz, Izabela Szmigiel, Radosław Zaremba, Maja Zdrodowska. Duration: 40 minutes.
Following the performance, there will be a meeting with the ensemble led by Łukasz Drewniąk - a theatre critic and RELACJE jury member.
