Kuba Więcek's Jazz Cats series returns in a new format - this time dedicated to great figures of jazz. Tonight's hero is Hermeto Pascoal, a Brazilian composer, multi-instrumentalist and improviser known as "the wizard" (O Feiticeiro). He is renowned for his extraordinary musical imagination and ability to create sounds from literally anything: traditional instruments, everyday objects, animal and nature sounds. In his music, he blended jazz with Brazilian folk music, avant-garde and improvisation, crafting compositions full of energy, humour and unpredictability.

A jam session will follow the concert.

He is the creator of the Jazz Cats concert series, which explores the history of jazz and its defining figures for wider audiences. He has released several albums and collaborated with prominent Polish and European jazz musicians.

Michał Barański is a Polish double bassist, bassist and composer, one of the most prominent figures on the contemporary Polish jazz scene. He has contributed to dozens of recordings alongside artists from various musical genres. His project "No Return, No Karma" blends jazz with Indian mathematical rhythmics, European sensibility and Polish folk music, and was released in the prestigious Polish Jazz series.
