Whistle (guest performance)
Scene of Theatrical and Acting Art STA in Poznań, Poland
Whistle is rebellion - a gesture of defiance, a yearning for freedom, an attempt to reclaim one's own voice. A manifesto that suddenly loses its reach, its force, its breath.
Tammy, daughter of Holocaust survivors, grapples with postmemory - the experience of traumas she never lived through, yet inherited nonetheless. Like many of her generation, she lives in the shadow of her parents' history, but unlike most, she begins to see that she has allowed the past to define her present for far too long. She attempts to step out of that shadow and reclaim space for her own life.
