Międzynarodowe Centrum Kongresowe w Katowicach, Katowice

The next meeting in the Art in the Centre series is dedicated to Frida Kahlo — an artist whose work emerged from pain, rebellion, and passion. The lecture explores her life, paintings, and fascinating biography.

Art in the Centre is a series of lectures at the International Congress Centre in Katowice, in which an art historian presents the stories of the world's most renowned artists. The narratives are grounded in facts and biographies of creators whose works are held in the world's most important museums — from celebrated paintings and sculptures to objects, colours, and abstractions.

Lecturer: Katarzyna Czapla-Durska — art historian, graduate of art history at the University of Silesia and semiological studies "Symbolism in World Cultures" at the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Kraków. She conducts art history classes for various age groups, covering phenomena from the Paleolithic to the present day. She created, among other projects, "Sztukowanie" for seniors, implemented for nearly 10 years in collaboration between the Pedagogical Provincial Library and the Silesian Theatre.

Duration: 1 hour. Recommended for adults / preferred age 16+.
