10¹⁷ is the ensemble of saxophonist Colin Stetson, guitarist and vocalist Stian Westerhus, and drummer Erland Dahlen, whose name refers to the enormous energy (10¹⁷ TeV) theoretically needed to create a black hole. It is music arising at the edge of collapse, into which the trio throws itself without hesitation – into a zone of gravitational tension, where compositions and sounds bend, crack and collapse, transforming into something deeply transformative and painfully beautiful.

The ensemble combines raw power with expressive emotional depth. Known for his powerful saxophone sound and mastery of circular breathing technique, Colin Stetson brings seismic energy and carved aliquots, while St
