10¹⁷ (Colin Stetson | Stian Westerhus | Erland Dahlen)
Experimental trio 10¹⁷ featuring saxophonist Colin Stetson, guitarist Stian Westerhus, and drummer Erland Dahlen. Music at the edge of collapse, combining raw power with emotional depth.
Colin Stetson (born 1975, Ann Arbor, Michigan) is a Grammy Award-winning saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, and composer based in Montreal. He built his reputation on solo bass saxophone performances that generate dense, polyphonic textures through circular breathing, multiphonics, and percussive key work - all without loops or overdubs. Beyond his acclaimed New History Warfare trilogy and solo albums, he has scored films and games including Hereditary (2018) and Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018), and collaborated live and in the studio with Arcade Fire, Bon Iver, Tom Waits, Laurie Anderson, and many others.
Stetson released the soundtrack for the Netflix series 'Something Very Bad is Going to Happen', his most recent screen score.
Two further film scores are scheduled for release in 2026: Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen and The Whisper Man.
Stetson performed a short UK tour in April 2026, including a show at Clapham Grand in London.
His solo album 'The love it took to leave you' was released in September 2024 on Invada Records (outside North America), recorded at The Darling Foundry in Montreal.
NPR Music selected 'Hollowing' from 'The love it took to leave you' as one of the year's best songs.
