Bria Skonberg

New York trumpeter, vocalist and composer Bria Skonberg will perform at Jassmine in September.

Skonberg is a Juno Award winner, ten-time DownBeat Rising Star recipient and Académie du Jazz nominee. The New York Times called her "the greatest hope of hot jazz", while The Wall Street Journal described her as "one of the most versatile and accomplished musicians of her generation". She has performed at Newport Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Carnegie Hall. Her debut album for Sony Masterworks reached the top of the Billboard Jazz chart, and her album What It Means, recorded in New Orleans, received a five-star review from DownBeat magazine.
