What's It All About? — Capitol Theatre in Warsaw, Warsaw

"What's It All About?" is a farce by Philip King full of surprising twists - growing funnier by the minute, though that seems impossible. Until the very end, you never know who else will appear at the door or jump out of the wardrobe.

The action takes place in a quiet English town, in the home of Reverend Lionel Toop and his wife Penelopy - a former actress who causes scandal among the respectable neighbours, especially the nosy Miss Skillon, who harbours a secret crush on the handsome clergyman. When an unexpected guest from Penelopy's theatrical past visits during the vicar's absence, a cascade of unforeseen events unfolds.

An innocent evening transforms into an endless game of hide-and-seek, costume changes and guessing games about who is who. The vicarage is invaded by an outraged bishop, a bewildered clergyman, a prisoner of war, a soldier on leave, a drunk local bigot, a stripped-down vicar, an uncouth maid and a sergeant on duty - and the helpless vicar's wife must somehow manage all this chaos.

Directed by: Marcin Sławiński. Translation: Bożena Sławińska. Costumes: Tomasz Jacyków. Set design: Joanna Pielat. Musical arrangement: Agnieszka Putkiewicz. Poster design: Honorata Paprot.

Costumes for the production were provided by Capitol Theatre's partner - Giacomo Conti.
