Nabu's Journey
Puppet Theatre "Arlekin" named after Henryk Ryl in Łódź, Poland
For audiences aged 7 and up, for young people and adults.
Nabu is a small girl living in a village beyond the sea. She has a warm home and a loving family - until one day a fire breaks out, taking away their shelter. The house is rebuilt, but soon the flames return. Nabu decides to flee the fire-ravaged village and search for a place where homes don't burn and everyone can be safe.
"Nabu's Journey" is a story about courage, fear, and the search for home. The performance follows a young girl's solitary expedition through deserts and vast waters - on her path there are no kind people, only invisible barbed wire leaving real wounds and boats that don't exist, at least not for everyone. Despite her wounds and fear, Nabu decides to continue forward, beyond the horizon, toward a better world.
The performance is based on a poetic book by Jarosław Mikołajewski that addresses the theme of the migration crisis and intolerance. The adaptation, told through table puppets and plastic means of expression, is brought to life by three actors - designed to spark a brave dialogue with young audiences, perhaps breaking taboos.
