Since 1991, Jean-Christophe Geiser has served as organist of Lausanne Cathedral and professor at the Lausanne University of Music. He studied piano and organ at the Bern University of Music and Theatre, and law and musicology at the University of Bern. He has performed in over 30 European countries as well as Asia, North America, and South America. He has recorded for Swiss, German, and Russian radio and television stations. He initiated the construction of new organs at Lausanne Cathedral - the largest instrument of its kind in Switzerland, combining French classical, German Baroque, French symphonic, and German Romantic styles. The instrument, valued at 4 million dollars, was created in collaboration with Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro, known for his work with Ferrari.
The concert will take place on the mechanical Eule organs, built in 1987. This 60-voice instrument, located in the church choir loft, allows for the performance of music from all periods.
