Maiden Vows

Director Dan Jemmett - who has staged "The Tempest" and "Twelfth Night" by William Shakespeare, as well as "'Tis Pity She's a Whore" by John Ford - returns to the Polish Theatre with "Maiden Vows".

The action is set in the 1970s on the outskirts of London. Two young women - Clara and Angela - swear they will never marry. A series of intrigues and schemes, however, leads their rebellion to end in a double engagement. This story of emancipation reveals that the struggles of young noblewomen from a Polish manor were shared by women for many decades to come - and not only in Poland.
