The Wife

Polish premiere of Jade-Rose Parker's play, beloved by French audiences. An ambiguous comedy of its kind.

François is running for mayor. He holds liberal views and enjoys strong public support. His wife Carla is intelligent and attractive, their beautiful daughter Louise is their pride - the perfect image, a symbol of success. But life is not an election poster. One day will turn the family's fate upside down and may destroy François's brilliant career. When someone reveals a long-hidden secret, another announces a shocking piece of news, and his main political rival Rachon gets involved in everything, François's world will shake to its foundations. A "festival" of quarrels, accusations, and further "revelations" will begin.

The play is hilarious but also prompts reflection. Director Adam Sajnuk draws out the irony of a politician put to the test, and the four actors perform brilliantly and improvise, creating believable characters in this comedy about hypocrisy, love, and tolerance.
