About

Amenra is a Belgian post-metal band from Kortrijk, founded in 1999 by vocalist Colin H. van Eeckhout and guitarist Mathieu Vandekerckhove. Their music weaves together doom metal, sludge, hardcore punk and post-rock into a sound defined by brooding spiritual intensity - each of their six studio albums in the Mass series was conceived as a personal reckoning with grief and hardship. Live, the band is known for ritualistic performances that blur the line between concert and ceremony, accompanied by visual art and, at times, extreme physical acts by van Eeckhout.
