About
Animals As Leaders is an American instrumental progressive metal trio from Washington D.C., formed in 2007 by guitarist Tosin Abasi and completed since 2012 by guitarist Javier Reyes and drummer Matt Garstka. The band plays without vocals, weaving djent, jazz fusion and ambient textures into a sound built around Abasi's eight-string guitar technique. Their 2014 album 'The Joy of Motion' reached #23 on the Billboard 200, and five studio albums in they remain one of the most technically ambitious acts in modern metal.
