Animals As Leaders is an American instrumental trio from Washington D.C. that blends progressive metal with jazz and ambient textures. The band was founded in 2007 by guitarist Tosin Abasi, whose technically demanding eight-string guitar work defines their sound. Their self-titled debut (2009) is widely regarded as a landmark of modern progressive metal.
