About

Periphery is an American progressive metal band from the Washington D.C. area, founded in 2005 by guitarist Misha Mansoor. The group - Mansoor, Jake Bowen, Matt Halpern, Spencer Sotelo and Mark Holcomb - is widely credited as one of the pioneers of the djent subgenre, built on polyrhythmic riffing and a sharp contrast between aggressive and melodic vocals. Their dual 2015 concept albums Juggernaut: Alpha and Juggernaut: Omega both debuted in the Billboard 200 Top 20 simultaneously, and the band has since released eight studio albums on their own label, 3DOT Recordings.
