Arto Lindsay is a Brazilian-American musician and singer born in the United States and raised in Brazil. His work blends avant-garde noise, Brazilian popular music and experimental song forms - he was a key figure in the New York no wave scene of the late 1970s and later collaborated closely with artists in the Brazilian MPB world. He is known for his deliberately atonal, untrained vocals set against lush or abrasive arrangements.
