Astrix is the stage name of Avi Shmailov (born 1981), an Israeli DJ and producer who has shaped the sound of progressive psychedelic trance for over two decades. Born in Russia and raised in Tel Aviv from age three, he co-founded the HOMmega label and built a global following through relentless touring and a string of Beatport-topping releases. His sets blend driving basslines with ascending melodic arcs, sitting at the crossroads of full-on psytrance and the clubbier end of trance.
Astrix performed at Beyond Wonderland Southern California in San Bernardino (March 28-29, 2025), one of North America's largest electronic music festivals.
A Desert Dwellers remix of Astrix and Vini Vici's 'Adhana' was released on Beatport in March 2025.
Astrix collaborated with Freedom Fighters on 'Burning Stones', released via the VII label in September 2024.
Astrix released 'Ziran' with Ritmo on Shamanic Tales in 2024, a track that quickly gained traction in live sets.
