Burning Spear, born Winston Rodney, is a Jamaican reggae singer and songwriter whose career stretches back to the late 1960s. Bob Marley introduced him to Studio One, where he cut his first recordings. Albums like "Marcus Garvey" and "Hail H.I.M." became cornerstones of roots reggae, built around themes of cultural identity, self-determination and unity.
