Dub Pistols are a London electronic band founded in 1996 by Barry Ashworth, blending big beat, dub, ska, drum & bass, hip-hop and reggae into a sound that has kept them on festival stages for nearly three decades. Their reputation rests less on chart hits than on relentlessly energetic live shows and a string of collaborative albums featuring guests from Terry Hall (The Specials) and Gregory Isaacs to Busta Rhymes and Horace Andy. The band runs its own Cyclone Records label and its own annual Mucky Weekender festival in the UK. Their tenth studio project, 'Enter the Sound' (2026), recorded jointly with The Freestylers, debuted at number one on the UK Dance Albums Chart.
The collaborative album 'Enter the Sound' with The Freestylers was released on 6 March 2026 on Cyclone Records, debuting at number one on the UK Dance Albums Chart and number one on the Indie Albums Breakers Chart.
The single 'Back On The Circuit' featuring MC Harry Shotta was released on 28 November 2025 as a preview of 'Enter the Sound', reworking a classic track with breakbeat production.
Dub Pistols are currently touring across 8 countries with 16 upcoming concerts, with dates including Paris, Lille and Zürich.
Their 2023 album 'Frontline', released on Cyclone Records, reached number 3 on the UK independent album charts and received radio play from BBC presenters including Lauren Laverne, Craig Charles and Don Letts.
The band played international dates across Holland, France, Germany, Romania and Bulgaria in 2024 as part of ongoing European touring activity.
