About

Édith Piaf (1915-1963) was a French singer and lyricist who rose from the streets of Paris to become the defining voice of the chanson réaliste genre. Known as "La Môme Piaf" (The Little Sparrow), she wrote and recorded over 80 songs - among them "La Vie en rose" and "Non, je ne regrette rien" - and is widely regarded as France's greatest popular singer. Her recordings have never gone out of circulation, and she remains a global cultural icon more than six decades after her death.
