Fritz Kalkbrenner is a German DJ, producer, and vocalist born in 1981 in East Berlin, known for blending house and techno with his distinctively soulful singing. He first gained wider attention as a vocalist on Sascha Funke's 2003 track 'Forms & Shapes', then reached a global audience with 'Sky & Sand', the anthem from the 2008 film Berlin Calling made with his brother Paul Kalkbrenner. His solo catalogue spans eight studio albums, from Here Today Gone Tomorrow (2010) through to Third Place (Virgin Records, 2024), and he has performed at major festivals including Awakenings, Lollapalooza, Melt, and Sónar.
