Georg Kreisler
About
Georg Kreisler (1922-2011) was an Austrian-American cabaret composer, lyricist and pianist. He made his name with darkly comic, politically sharp songs in German - "Tauben vergiften" became an icon of Viennese cabaret. After the Anschluss he emigrated to the United States and did not return to Europe until after the war.
