About

Gorod is a technical death metal band from Bordeaux, France, active since 1997 (originally under the name Gorgasm). Over eight studio albums they have built a reputation for combining extreme precision with groove, melody, and harmonic textures drawn from 1970s jazz, funk, and progressive rock - a sound that sets them apart from most of their genre peers. Their catalogue runs from the debut Neurotripsicks (2004) through the critically praised Æthra (2018) and The Orb (2023), with an eighth album, The Ember Gone, due August 2026 via Season of Mist.
