Karl Kraus was an Austrian writer, satirist and journalist (1874–1936), founder and long-time editor of the Viennese journal Die Fackel. He is the author of the monumental drama The Last Days of Mankind, a satirical tragedy about World War I and one of the landmark works of 20th-century German-language literature.
