Kino was a Soviet rock band formed in Leningrad in 1981 by singer-songwriter and guitarist Viktor Tsoi, who remained its creative core until his death in a car accident on 15 August 1990. Rooted in post-punk and new wave, the group rose to national fame during the glasnost era - their album Gruppa krovi (1988) and the anthem 'Khochу Peremen' (I Want Change) made them the voice of a generation hungry for change. Since 2020 the surviving members - Yuri Kasparyan, Igor Tikhomirov and Alexander Titov - have been performing again, using a digitally restored version of Tsoi's voice alongside live instrumentation.
Kino released a new 3D music video for 'Zvezda po imeni Solntse' in April 2025.
Kino launched their 'Istoriyu etogo mira' concert program at Moscow's VTB Arena on 24 May 2024.
A remake of 'Eto ne lyubov' was released on 15 March 2024.
In December 2023, Kino announced a new concert program titled 'Istoriyu etogo mira', featuring songs not previously performed live and a redesigned stage concept.
On 22 December 2022, Kino released '12_22', a modern re-recording of one of their existing songs.
