New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble (NYSJE) is a New York-based collective founded in 1994 that blends ska rhythms with jazz improvisation. Led by saxophonist Rocksteady Freddie, the group is credited with pioneering the "ska-jazz" genre, combining energetic brass sections with bebop, swing, and Latin jazz influences. They have released numerous albums and performed at major festivals worldwide.
