Tarja - Frisson Live 2026
Finnish vocalist Tarja returns with a new tour and album blending operatic elegance with metal power. A show full of contrasts between intimacy and raw energy.
Tarja Turunen (born 1977, Kitee, Finland) is a Finnish soprano and songwriter who co-founded symphonic metal band Nightwish in 1996 and shaped the genre with her operatically trained voice before parting ways with the band in 2005. Trained at the Sibelius Academy and the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe, she has since built a solo career spanning ten studio albums that move between symphonic metal, classical song and orchestral pop. Her 2026 album Frisson Noir - her heaviest record to date and first full metal album since 2019 - marks a deliberate return to the harder end of her range.
Tarja released Frisson Noir on 12 June 2026 via earMUSIC, her tenth studio album and first full metal record since 2019.
Third single 'The Trace Outlives', featuring Sayo Komada, was released on 27 May 2026 ahead of the album.
Second single 'I Don't Care', a collaboration with Cradle of Filth vocalist Dani Filth, came out on 22 April 2026.
Lead single 'At Sea', a ten-minute cinematic opener, was released on 18 March 2026 to announce Frisson Noir.
The Frisson Live 2026 international tour was announced, launching 30 September 2026 in Berlin and running through October across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
