The Damned are a London punk rock band formed in 1976 by vocalist Dave Vanian, guitarist Brian James, bassist Captain Sensible, and drummer Rat Scabies. They hold a unique place in British music history as the first UK punk act to release a single ('New Rose', 1976), a studio album (Damned Damned Damned, 1977), and to tour the United States. Over five decades their sound has stretched from raw punk into gothic and psychedelic rock, earning them nine UK Top 40 singles and a lasting influence on both punk and goth.
The Damned announced the 'Final Damnation 50' world tour, including dates in Prague, Krakow, Ljubljana, the UK, Australia, and North America, to mark their 50th anniversary.
