About

The Dickies are an American punk rock band from the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, formed in 1977. They were the first California punk band signed to a major label (A&M Records) and the first to appear on network television, making them genuine trailblazers of the LA punk scene. Their sound - fast, campy, and laced with humor - earned them the tag 'bubblegum punk', and their cover of 'Banana Splits (The Tra La La Song)' hit #7 on the UK Singles Chart in 1979. Founding members Leonard Graves Phillips and Stan Lee have kept the band going for nearly five decades.
