Julia Franck in conversation with Torsten Hoffmann
Julia Franck's new book, titled Ich ertrinke in den Wassern meiner eigenen Liebe, tells the story of the relationship between the artist Baladine Klossowska and Rainer Maria Rilke. In conversation with Torsten Hoffmann, president of the International Rilke Society, Franck discusses Klossowska's life and Rilke's last great love affair - a complex, crisis-ridden relationship that began in 1919.
Julia Franck, winner of the Schiller Prize 2022, made her debut in 1997 with the novel Der neue Koch; ten years later, Die Mittagsfrau became an international bestseller. The evening also serves as the opening event of the conference "Rilke im Archiv" (more information at www.rilke.ch).
