The Junge Quartett Berlin consists of four music students who met in the Berlin State Youth Orchestra and performed together before beginning their studies.

The programme opens with Mozart's 6th String Quartet in B-flat major, followed by the German premiere of a composition by Kolja Roterberg - his work introduces a modern tonal language and abstract form in deliberate contrast to the opening piece. The concert concludes with Schubert's quartet "Death and the Maiden".

About the venue: Stadtmuseum Pirna

The Stadtmuseum Pirna is housed in a former Dominican monastery in the old town, a building with roots going back to the 13th century. Its permanent collection covers the history of Pirna and the surrounding Saxon Switzerland region, from medieval times through to the 20th century. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions and cultural events throughout the year.
