Tilda has a lot on her plate: alongside her maths degree she works at a supermarket and looks after her little sister Ida. Caught in the treadmill of university, housework and her job, she tries to give Ida a stable home - their mother is an alcoholic, and both fathers have long since gone. The one escape for the two of them is the swimming pool: Tilda loses herself doing lap after lap, while Ida splashes her way through daily life.

Everything starts to wobble when Tilda meets the taciturn Viktor - and when a tempting offer lands in her lap: a PhD position in Berlin. But what would that mean for Ida?

In her debut novel, Caroline Wahl tells a story of growing up, freedom and love, with sharp, ironic dialogue and a warm-hearted tone.
