SPOTTED: CLASH
Tracing the Roots of Interpersonal Conflict
Guest performance by the Dance Network in Lower Saxony | Contemporary Dance
Two dancers step onto the stage - and things clash. Bodies entangle, tensions build, perspectives shift. CLASH examines what it means to enter into a relationship with another person, to negotiate compromises, and to understand conflict as an inherent part of living together - and where a situation tips into escalation.
Drawing on Pietro Fiorentini's idea that solutions often lie beyond clearly defined positions, the piece explores how dance can make conflicts visible and harness their transformative power. The body becomes a space for negotiation: a place where friction, resistance, closeness and distance are felt directly.
Concept, design and dance: Josh Haines, Alina Jaggi. Production: unknown.possibilities.
The guest performance takes place as part of SPOTTED - a model project by LaFT (Landesverband Freie Darstellende Künste in Niedersachsen e. V.) and the cooperative TANZKOOP, which creates additional performance opportunities for outstanding contemporary dance ensembles from Lower Saxony. Productions are selected through an open application process and nominated by an independent jury. A post-show discussion will follow the performance; an accompanying workshop is being planned - further details to come.
