About the venue

The Lessingtheater in Wolfenbüttel is a municipal theatre named after the Enlightenment writer Gotthold Ephraim Lessing, who lived and worked in the town for many years. Built in the late 19th century, it stages drama, comedy, musicals and children's theatre. As the main cultural venue of the region, it also hosts guest productions and literary events.
