About: Blockhead

Tony Simon - the man behind the Blockhead alias - has spent 25 years crafting sample-heavy instrumental hip-hop from his Manhattan base, earning cult status through solo records on Ninja Tune and close creative ties with Aesop Rock. His latest album Mortality Is Lit! (2024) and the 20th-anniversary reissue of Music by Cavelight confirm he remains one of the most consistent voices in the genre.
