Götz Alsmann & Chris Hopkins

Chris Hopkins and Götz Alsmann bring their duet to Münster on Friday, 25 September 2026 at Konzertsaal Friedenskapelle. This is one of five German dates for the pair. Piano and banjo-once a standard pairing in ragtime and early jazz-take the stage again through the collaboration of pianist Hopkins and multi-instrumentalist Alsmann. Their program restores a nearly forgotten art form from the period between 1890 and 1930, when this combination was a living part of jazz music. The duo combines historical knowledge with performing skill, opening listeners to a world of sound that has largely vanished from concert halls.
