Kongresshalle Gießen, Germany

The Gießen audience has known Roland Jankowsky for 15 years now. Not just as "Commissioner Overbeck" from the Wilsberg crime series. Above all as a witty reader of darkly humorous crime stories. His repeated appearances at the Gießen Crime Festival were always in demand and sold out quickly. Now Jankowsky returns to his roots - on October 2, 2026, he finally comes back to Gießen.
Most people know Roland Jankowsky as the somewhat eccentric Commissioner Overbeck from the cult crime series "Wilsberg". In this iconic role, the "Dirty Harry of Münster" was voted by TV viewers in 2018 as "Germany's Coolest Commissioner". Yet Roland Jankowsky has many talents. Whether as an actor on television or in theatre, as a singer or audiobook narrator - his comedic potential is unmistakably his trademark.
In his crime reading "When Overbeck Comes...", he can fully exploit this trademark and his talents. In the presented "criminal" short stories, he creates local colour through appropriate dialects and plays and embodies the protagonists of the stories so vividly that listeners can almost see them before their eyes.
Humour never falls short, because not every bullet that hits hits the right target. Each of Jankowsky's readings becomes a winking and enormously entertaining experience for every crime fan.
