Julius Fischer - I Hate People. A Reproduction — Zentralgasthof Weinböhla, Weinböhla

Julius Fischer had actually decided to stop hating people. Spread good vibes, hand out compliments, love and be loved. What he hadn't factored in was the people themselves. And then he went and had two kids. "Had" is a strong word - he was there. He wrote a book about it. What's it about?

It's dark in Leipzig. Everyone is asleep. Everyone? No. One child is putting up fierce resistance. The father, not entirely unlike the author, pulls out his last resort: a buggy ride. Outcome uncertain, duration unpredictable. Like the Odyssey. Along the way he naturally runs into people. Unfortunately. And thinks about parenthood. While simultaneously being a parent. An exhausted parent. Which doesn't help.

A book for everyone who has kids. Or doesn't want kids. Or doesn't know what the Odyssey is. In the show accompanying the book, he reads - as anyone can imagine - the funniest passages, and in between sings love songs without happy endings. He's really only going on tour to catch up on sleep. Not on stage, obviously. Unless the audience wants to sleep too - then it becomes a lovely group therapy session. And since the world is ending soon anyway, an evening like this can't hurt.

What the audience can expect: funny texts, funny songs, an interval, possibly shared sleep therapy, loooong parenting conversations at the book table.
What there won't be: poems (his poetry collection "Stille" is unfortunately sold out, or not yet published, or not yet written), photos of his kids, crowdwork, live painting, conspiracy theories.

The author's own take: "I'd go and watch it myself if I didn't have a show to do!"
